Charles Khan

Organizing Director, Strong Economy For All

Charles Khan is the Organizing Director at the Strong Economy For All Coalition, a Coalition of Labor Unions and Community groups focusing on budget & legislative driven campaigns to fight for economic equality, funding for public goods, and corporate accountability in New York State. He also works at the Center For Popular Democracy co-directing financialization and state tax campaigns throughout the national network. He specializes in legislative campaign strategy, popular education, coalition building, direct action and grasstops organizing. He is a leader with the Hedge Clippers. He has organized and advised on campaigns across a wide range of issues from progressive tax policy at the state and federal levels, including Medicare4All, #DefundThePolice/#OccupyCityHall, Fight For $15 and the successful $4B Invest In Our NY Tax campaign.

Eric Harris Bernstein

Coalition Director, We Make Minnesota

Eric Harris Bernstein is Director of We Make Minnesota — a coalition of labor and grassroots organizations dedicated to the foundational importance and transformative potential of public investment. The coalition leads joint research, advocacy, communications, and organizing efforts to secure and protect the revenues needed to fund a just and functional society. Prior to working for We Make Minnesota, Eric was a researcher and program manager for the Roosevelt Institute. Prior to that he was a bartender. He holds a Master's in Public Policy from UC Berkeley's Goldman School of Public Policy and a BA Magna Cum Laude from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

 

Josh Riddick

Lead Organizer for the Black church Coalition, Faith in Indiana

Josh Riddick (he/him/his) is the lead organizer at Faith In Indiana and community organizer for the Black Church Coalition. He has called Indianapolis home for the last six years after graduating from Spring Arbor University. Since moving to Indianapolis, Josh has been a pastor, racial equity trainer, and civic dialogue facilitator. Josh completed his graduate work in Missional Leadership from Rochester University in the spring of 2022. He is a spouse, parent, avid men's and women's basketball fan, reader, and hip-hop connoisseur. Josh is moved by the intersections of identity, spirituality, justice, and the development of emerging Black leaders.

Lucas S. Meyer

project Director, New Hampshire

Lucas S. Meyer brings a unique skill set and body of work that spans all facets of advocacy and electoral work - having run several successful campaigns and advocacy coalitions in New Hampshire including Congressman Chris Pappas’s historic reelection in 2020 and the New Hampshire Campaign for Voting Rights/Fair Maps Coalition. Previously, Lucas served as the Caucus Director for the New Hampshire Senate Democratic Caucus overseeing all aspects of the 2016 targeted Senate campaigns including strategy, message development, budgets, organizing and paid communications. Lucas has also previously served as a public affairs consultant for one of largest energy companies in North America, tech startups, and other national advocacy organizations. He also previously served as a campaign manager for Chris Pappas's Executive Council race in 2014 and before that served as the Deputy Communications Director for the NH Democratic Party. Lucas began his career by delivering a win in a hard-fought New Hampshire State Senate race for Andrew Hosmer in a red to blue flip seat. He served as President of the New Hampshire Young Democrats for a record 5 years and is currently Chair of 603 Forward, a nonprofit he co-founded which is dedicated to educating, engaging, and recruiting next generation leaders across the state. He serves on the NH Advisory Board for the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition and is an alumni of Leadership New Hampshire. He lives in Manchester with his partner and enormous dog.

Marc Stier

executive Director, Pennsylvania Policy Center

Marc Stier has had an illustrious career as an activist, teacher, and writer. Prior to founding the Pennsylvania Policy Center in May 2023, her served as the director of the Pennsylvania Budget and Policy Center since December 2015. Before that Marc served as the executive director of Penn ACTION, where he worked to protect funding for education and women’s health care and expand Social Security; the Pennsylvania Director of Health Care for America Now, which led the grassroots effort in support of what became the Affordable Care Act in the state; and the Health Care campaign manager for SEIU Pennsylvania State Council. Stier was an academic for 25 years. He has a bachelor’s degree from Wesleyan University and a doctorate from Harvard University, both in political science. He has taught at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks; City College of New York; the University of North Carolina, Charlotte; and Temple University, where he was the associate director and internet coordinator of the Intellectual Heritage Program. Stier is the author of numerous papers on political philosophy, the history of political thought and American politics. He is the author of the book Grassroots Advocacy and Health Care Reform, published in 2013. His new book, Civilization and Its Contents: Reflections on Sex and the Culture Wars, will be published in 2025. He also is co-editor of Ambiguity in the Western Tradition.

Molly Shack

Co-Executive Director, Ohio Organizing Collaborative

Molly Shack is the Co-Executive Director of the Ohio Organizing Collaborative, a statewide organization dedicated to improving the lives of Ohioans through grassroots organizing. Since 2011, Molly has played a central role in OOC’s campaigns for social, racial, and economic justice. As a member leader, she co-founded the Ohio Student Association, organizing students on campuses across Ohio. Molly served as Civic Engagement Director of the OOC, where she helped build one of the largest independent voter engagement programs in the country. In Columbus, she has led faith, community, and student organizing efforts to win campaigns on education, voting rights, criminal justice and drug policy reform. Molly was born and raised on the East side of Columbus, Ohio and is a proud graduate of Columbus City Schools and The Ohio State University.

 

Norma Martinez-HoSang

Director, Connecticut for all

Norma is the Director of Connecticut For All. She has been a labor and community organizer for over 25 years in California, Oregon and Connecticut, including organizing and bargaining in Higher Education, Health Care, and Public Sector Unions. As a community organizer, she led issue campaigns around immigration, racial justice, and youth rights. She lives in Connecticut with her husband and two children.
