(Boo)kmark Alert: the 2024 general election is less than a week away. Don’t sleep on the revenue ballots! If you can’t help but constantly refresh Election Night returns, here’s some links to bookmark for Tuesday night.
The biggest revenue ballot in 2024 is the potential repeal of Washington State’s capital gains tax. Recent public surveys look promising and additionally, a poll by the Seattle Times found that Washington State voters also support a wealth tax on people with more than $250m in assets. Here’s the Secretary of State’s page for Tuesday’s results.
New Hampshire’s Our Economy Our Future coalition has been working hard to educate and prepare for 2025 legislative session, where corporate taxes will be front and center. Revenue and taxes are a major issue in the Governor's race. With the entire state legislature up, New Hampshire is worth a click on Tuesday night.
Other revenue ballots of note and where to find the results are:
Illinois [Advisory] High Earners Tax and Property Tax Cut
Missouri Amendment 6 Using Fines to Fund Law Enforcement Salaries
North Dakota’s Measure 4, a Repeal of Property Taxes
Oregon’s Measure 118, a Corporate Tax Hike to Fund a General Rebate
